Volunteer Needed- Recycling Pick-up

Dear parents,

Our class needs a parent to pick up the school's paper recycling and take it to a city recycling depot.  Please sign up at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0448afa823a4fe3-help2 if you are available to help out anytime this week.  Please indicate the approximate time you will come in the comments.  The recycling is stored in the hallway/doorway near Mme. Amrita's classroom.

Thank you!

Clay Project- May 13th

Hi Parents,

We are very fortunate to have a parent volunteer who is coming this Friday, May 13th, to do a clay project with the students. We are equally as fortunate to have other parents who will volunteer to help out with this messy yet fun activity.

With regards to the planning of this project, it would be a good idea to have your son/ daughter think about and decide in advance the animal that they would like to make. In addition, we are hoping that students can bring in an old toothbrush that they can use as a tool. I have attached an image for you to see what the clay project looks like.

May 9- 13

Here's the plan for next week:

French: Students will review the 'imparfait' verb tense, including the verbs 'aller' and 'faire'. They will NOT have an evaluation this week :)

Science: We are continuing our unit on simple machines/ wheels and levers. Next week we will finish learning about gears and then learn more about levers.

Math: Students will continue to learn about decimal numbers. They have learned how to add and subtract decimal numbers with 'les dixièmes' (ex: 4,7- 3,8) and will expand on this with addition and subtraction of decimal numbers with 'les centièmes' (ex: 5,76- 2,27). Please note that in French, decimals are represented with a comma and not a point.

English: We are starting a novel study on Belle of Batoche.
