Grade 5: Dec. 14- 17

 GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:


French: Students will write opinion letters. These will be due on Thursday. In addition, students will be practicing and presenting their Christmas plays to their classmates. A reminder that book reports and reading logs are due on Thursday!

Math: We will continue our unit on division. Students will be learning how to calculate long division.

English: Students’ Christmas stories are due tomorrow. We will also complete some fun Christmas activities.

Religion: Message from Mme Lora: Students will be playing the grade 5 Advent games.

Grade 4: Dec. 14- 17

 GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:


French: Students’ written assignments are due tomorrow. We will be practicing our Christmas plays and presenting them to our classmates.  A reminder that students’ reading programs are due on Monday. In addition, book reports are due on Thursday.

Math: Students will have a fun math project about Christmas. This is due on Thursday.

English: Students will be reading their Christmas stories. These are due tomorrow.

Science: We will finish presenting our project about how to celebrate Christmas with less waste.

Social Studies: We will continue to learn about the different geographic elements of the Rocky Mountains.

Religion: Message from Mme Lora:  Students will be playing the grade 5 Advent games.

Social Justice Campaign

 SOCIAL justice campaign:

On behalf of Student council we are launching a very short but worthwhile campaign to give to the less fortunate. If you can purchase a pair of good woolen socks and maybe some items to fill them. These little gifts of kindness will go to the Drop in Center to help make someone else's Christmas just a little brighter. Participation is optional. Here is a list of items that you can put inside:

Warm socks that you can put the following into:

Underwear (new) Razors Tylenol/Advil Throat Lozenges Lysol Wipes $5 Tim Horton’s/McDonalds gift cards

Bus tickets
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Deodorant
Kleenex packs small
Lip balm individual
Notebooks & pens
Cash and toques or gloves will also be accepted separately.

The due date will be December 16th. Thank you for your generosity.

Grade 5: Dec. 7- 11

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:


French: Students will learn about homophones. There will be an evaluation on Friday. In addition, they will continue to develop their reading comprehension skills.

Math: We will continue with our unit on multiplication. There will be an evaluation on Thursday on long multiplication. Then we will move on to division.

English: Students will have the week to complete their Christmas stories.

Religion: Message from Mme Lora: Students will be learning about Advent. In addition, they should be continuing to write in their daily gratitude journal. This is due on December 9th.

Grade 4: Dec. 7- 11

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:


French: Students will be completing their written assignment where they pretend that the objects in the classroom have come alive. This is due next Monday.  A reminder that students’ reading programs are due on Monday.

Math: We will learn about addition vs. subtraction. There will be an evaluation on Friday.

English: Students will be writing Christmas stories.

Science: We are starting a project where students think about how to celebrate Christmas in a more environmentally friendly way.

Social Studies: We will start to learn about the different geographic elements of the Rocky Mountains.

Religion: Message from Mme Lora:  Students will be learning about Advent. In addition, they should be continuing to write in their daily gratitude journal. This is due on December 9th.
