Mardi Gras- Parent Letter

Our most exciting school event will look different this year but will still be lots of fun and offer lots of GREAT prizes.  This year, Mardi Gras will consist of an ONLINE SILENT AUCTION and a VIRTUAL DANCE.

The ONLINE AUCTION/DANCE is only 4 weeks away on

FRIDAY, MARCH 12TH, 2021 from 6h30 to 8h30pm,

We are now accepting donations for the Silent Auction, which along with the virtual dance will be this year’s Mardi Gras Celebration.  Our Silent Auction relies on baskets filled with items donated by our school families.  Basket Themes are:

Kindergarten – Shop Local

Grade 1 – Pamper Mommy

Grade 2 – Daddy Time

Grade 3 – Sports/Games Night

Grade 4 – Summer Fun

Grade 5 – Winter Fun

Grade 6 – Wine Wine Wine

Please send any donation items to school with your child to be added to their grade’s basket.  Feel free to also donate to a different grade’s theme.

This Auction is a key fundraiser for our school council, enabling us to fund programs and equipment that enhance the education of our children.  In typical years, the Mardi Gras Celebration is the school’s biggest fundraiser.  At this time, we are looking for some fun and unique donations to include in the auction.

The Silent Auctions will be available to view online from March 8th to 12th.  A weblink will be sent out once it is open.  Anyone interested in bidding on items will need to pre-register for a BIDDERS NUMBER.  Bidding will be open to ANYONE as long as the bidder registers under a St. Luke student’s name.  Details on how to register to bid will be coming in the next week.

The Silent Auction will include a wide variety of items to choose from.  The baskets will be set up so that the starting point is accessible.  Each prize will be shown with a full description of what is included, an approximate value, minimum bid and minimum bid increments.

The Virtual Dance will have a separate link during the silent auction.  Musical Twist will be running a zoom virtual dance which will include family friendly songs to dance to and games to be played.

Please consider supporting our students by donating items, participating in the online Mardi Gras Auction and dancing with your whole family.

Thanking you all for your support!
