Grade 5: June 20- 24

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:


French: Students will complete large group reading activities as well as a film study.

Math: Students will finish review from this year.

English: Students will work on reading short stories together.

Social Studies: Students have completed this subject.

Religion: Students will begin presentations of the Year End "Show What You Know" Inquiry Task.

Grade 4: June 20- 24

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:


French: Students will complete large group reading activities as well as a film study.

Math:  We will finish the data analysis unit.

English: Students will be reading various stories together.

Science: We will finish our unit on plant growth and change.

Social Studies: Students will read their topics of Alberta’s history.

 Religion: Students will begin presentations of their research project from the Religion textbook. 

Students will finish learning about Family Life this week. They should be bringing home the handouts to discuss with parents.

Grade 5: June 13- 17

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:


French: Students will continue working on a reader’s theatre activity.

Math: Students are completing review questions from all units.

English: Students will work on reading and presenting a short play.

Social Studies: Students will learn about chapter 12: Caring for Canada.

Religion: Students will continue to work on their year-end “Show What You Know” inquiry task. They will have two questions from which to choose:
1. How do we live a moral life?
2. How does our understanding of human dignity affect the way we live our faith?

They will build their project at home and at school. Presentations will start next week.

Grade 4: June 13- 17

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:


French: Students will complete various reading activities.
A reminder that reading programs are due on Monday. Students are required to read 50 minutes in French and 50 minutes in English per week.

Math:  We will finish geometry and start the data analysis unit.

English: Students will be reading short plays together.

Science: We will continue our unit on plant growth and change.

Social Studies: Students will start to read their topics of Alberta’s history.

 Religion: Students will continue learning about Unit 5: Building the Kingdom of God. They will also work on a research project using the Religion textbook.

Students will be learning about Family Life this week.

Grade 5: June 6- 10

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will be working on a reader’s theatre activity.

Math: We will finish our unit on Transformations. There will be an evaluation on Wednesday.

English: Students will complete all activities of the novel study Fatty Legs. They are due on Tuesday.

Social Studies: Students will finish and present their project on chapters 10 and 11. It is due on Thursday.

Religion: Students will begin to work on their year-end “Show What You Know” inquiry task. They will have two questions from which to choose:
1. How do we live a moral life?
2. How does our understanding of human dignity affect the way we live our faith?

Grade 4: June 6- 10

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:


French: Students will complete various reading activities.
A reminder that reading programs are due on Monday. Students are required to read 50 minutes in French and 50 minutes in English per week.

Math:  We will start our geometry unit.

English: We will finish our novel study of Belle of Batoche. All three booklets are due on Friday.

Science: Students will start learning about plant growth and change.

Social Studies: Students will complete the history project where they summarize 5 different events of Alberta’s past. This is due on Thursday.

 Religion: Students will continue learning about Unit 5: Building the Kingdom of God. They will also work on a research project using the Religion textbook.

Due to the approaching deadline of report card marks, all outstanding and upcoming assignments MUST be handed in by June 10th, no exceptions!
