Grade 4: Feb. 27- Mar. 3

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: A reminder that the NEW reading program is due for Monday.
 We will be reviewing all verbs in the passé composé. Students will have a homework assignment of writing 30 sentences in the passé composé. A list of verbs and subject for each sentence will be provided. This is due on Friday.

Math: We will continue with our unit on fractions.

English: Students will complete some reading comprehension activities, as well as learn about adjectives in our writing.

Science: Students will continue their project for our Lights and Shadows unit.

Social Studies: We will continue to learn about our province’s natural resources.

Religion: Students will continue unit 3: The Kingdom of God. Students will also continue learn about Lenten promises. On Friday, Bishop William McGrattan will visit our school and visit each classroom.

REMINDER: BOOK REPORTS ARE DUE ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 1ST.

Grade 3: Feb. 27- Mar. 3

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students should be completing log 6 of their French at-home reading program. This week, students will finish the unit on the gender of words (masculine and feminine). There will be an evaluation on Tuesday. Additionally, students will continue examining word choice with their writing. We will also begin to learn about how adjectives change form according to the noun that they describe.

Math: We will continue with our unit on multiplication. Students should be practicing their multiplication facts up to 9 X 9.

English: Students will continue reading comprehension activities, as well as learn about adjectives in our writing.

Science: We will continue our unit on structures and construction.

Social Studies: Presentations of the Peru project will begin on Monday. Then we will start a new unit on Ukraine.

Religion: Students will review unit 3: Born of the Spirit. Students will also continue learn about Lenten promises. On Friday, Bishop William McGrattan will visit our school and visit each classroom.

Grade 4: Feb. 21- 24

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: A reminder that the French reading program is due for Tuesday.
Students will continue learning how to conjugate verbs that use ÊTRE in the passé composéThere will be an evaluation on Friday.

Math: We will complete our unit on division. There will be an evaluation on Wednesday on both multiplication and division.

English: We will continue to learn about contractions and Black History Month. There will be an evaluation on Thursday on contractions.

Science: Students will start a project for our Lights and Shadows unit. They will have the choice between building a laser maze or a sundial.

Social Studies: Students will finish presenting their projects on the geographical regions of Alberta. Then we will start to learn about our province’s natural resources.

Religion: Students will continue unit 3: The Kingdom of God. Students will also continue to practice the song “There are 7 Sacraments” and complete activities. Additionally, they will discuss Lenten promises as the grade 1’s will lead our Ash Wednesday liturgy on Wednesday at 10:00 am. Due to the date of the liturgy, our school will celebrate Pink Shirt Day on Tuesday in support of Bullying Awareness.

Grade 3: Feb. 21- 24

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students should be on log 6 of their French at-home reading program. This week, students will continue to learn about the gender of words (masculine and feminine). Students will also continue examining word choice with their writing.

Math: We will continue with our unit on multiplication. Students should be practicing their multiplication facts up to 9 X 9.

English: Students will continue reading comprehension activities, as well as continue learning about Black History Month.

Science: Students will finish and present their musical instruments that they built. Then we will start our unit on structures and construction.

Social Studies: Students will complete their final research about Peru. It is due on Monday.

Religion: Students will continue unit 3: Born of the Spirit. Students will also continue to practice the song “There are 7 Sacraments” and complete activities. Additionally, they will discuss Lenten promises as the grade 1’s will lead our Ash Wednesday liturgy on Wednesday at 10:00 am. Due to the date of the liturgy, our school will celebrate Pink Shirt Day on Tuesday in support of Bullying Awareness.

Additionally, they will discuss Lenten promises, participate in the ash burning ceremony with piety, and listen to the story of St. Valentine.

Students will be learning how to conjugate the verb ALLER in the passé composé. There will be an evaluation on Friday. We will also continue our reading groups with GB+ and learn about "le d
éterminant".

Math: We will learn about division. Students should be practicing their division facts up to 81/ 9.

English: We will finish our unit on prefixes and suffixes. There will be a quiz on Wednesday. We will also learn about contractions and continue to learn about Black History Month.

Science: We will continue our unit on Lights and Shadows. Students should be reviewing their notes as there will be an evaluation in approximately one week.

Social Studies: Students will finish their project on the different geographical regions of Alberta. This will be due on Friday.

Religion: Students will continue unit 3: The Kingdom of God. Students will also learn the liturgical season of ordinary time. They will have readings about the Sacraments and learn the song “There are 7 Sacraments”. Additionally, for part of Faith in Action, students will help their grade one buddies complete a St. Valentine’s activity book.

Grade 3: Feb. 6- 10

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students should be on log 6 of their French at-home reading program. This week, students will continue to learn about the plural form of words. There will be a quiz on Friday. Students will also be learning about word choice with their writing.

Math: We will continue with addition and subtraction. Students will practice reading word problems and identifying if the question is asking for addition or subtraction. The final evaluation of this unit will be in approximately one week.

English: Students will finish learning about parts of speech: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs etc. There will be a quiz on Wednesday. They will also complete some reading comprehension activities and continue learning about Black History Month.

Science: We will continue our unit on sound and hearing. Students should start reviewing their notes at home. They will receive a study guide this week.

Social Studies: Students will finish learning about Peru. There will be a quiz on Thursday. They received a study guide last week. Then students will work on a final project about Peru.

Religion: Students will continue unit 3: Born of the Spirit. Students will also learn the liturgical season of ordinary time. They will have readings about the Sacraments and learn the song “There are 7 Sacraments”. Additionally, for part of Faith in Action, students will help their grade one buddies complete a St. Valentine’s activity book.
