Grade 5: Mar. 28- 31

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will finish writing their opinion essays. They are due on Thursday.

Math: We will continue with our unit on fractions.

English: Students will finish writing their new articles. We will also start a unit on poetry.

Social Studies: We will continue with chapter 8: The Creation of Canada.

Religion: Students will continue presenting their Black History Month projects. In addition, they will continue learning about Lent.

Grade 4: Mar. 28- 31

GRADE 4


Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will learn how to conjugate the verbs AVOIR and ÊTRE in the ‘imparfait’. There will be a pre-test on Monday (not for marks), followed by an evaluation on Thursday. Students will need to know when to use each of these verbs in a sentence.
A reminder that reading programs are due on Monday. Students are required to read 50 minutes in French and 50 minutes in English per week.

Math:  We will start our unit on measuring area. There is also a project about their daily schedule that is due on Thursday.

English: Students will learn about poetry.

Science: We will continue with our unit on Simple Machines.

Social Studies: Students will continue to learn about the natural resources of Alberta.

 Religion: Students will continue presenting their Black History Month projects. In addition, they will continue learning about Lent.

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will learn about writing opinion essays.

English: Persuasive letters are due on Monday. Then we will learn about writing news paper articles.

Social Studies: We will continue with chapter 8: The Creation of Canada.

Religion: Students will continue presenting their Black History Month projects. In addition, they will continue learning about Lent.

Grade 4: Mar. 21- 25

GRADE 4


Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will finish writing their fictional stories related to spring. They are due on Friday.
A reminder that reading programs are due on Monday. Students are required to read 50 minutes in French and 50 minutes in English per week.

Math:  We will finish our unit on telling time. There will be an evaluation on Wednesday. Then we will start our next unit on measuring area.

English: Students will finish their character portrait project. We will then work on reading comprehension activities.

Science: We will finish presentations of the project. Afterward, we will start our new unit on Simple Machines.

Social Studies: Students will continue to learn about the natural resources of Alberta.

 Religion: Students will continue presenting their Black History Month projects. In addition, they will continue learning about Lent.

Math: We will continue with our unit on fractions. There will be an evaluation on Wednesday.

English: Students will write persuasive letters.

Social Studies: We will start to learn about chapter 8: The Creation of Canada

Religion: Students will continue presenting their Black History Month projects. In addition, they will learn about Lent.

English: Students will work on a character portrait project.

Science: We will start presentations of the project on Monday. Then we will start a new unit: Simple Machines.

Social Studies: Students will learn about the natural resources of Alberta.

French: Students will be writing short stories.

Math: We will start a new unit on fractions.

English: Students will learn how to read and write persuasive letters.

Social Studies: Students present their projects on chapters 5, 6, and 7.

Religion: Students will continue presenting their Black History Month projects. In addition, they will learn about Lent.

Grade 4: Mar. 7- 11

GRADE 4


Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will learn reflexive verbs in the ‘passé composé’. There will be an evaluation on Friday.
A reminder that reading programs are due on Monday. Students are required to read 50 minutes in French and 50 minutes in English per week.

Math:  We will continue our new unit on telling time. There will be an evaluation on Tuesday.

English: Students will work on a project where they create a wanted poster for an antagonist character of a book they have read.

Science: We will continue the project where students can either build a laser maze or a sundial. It is due on Friday.

Social Studies: We start presentations of the geographical regions project.

 Religion: Students will continue presenting their Black History Month projects. In addition, they will learn about Lent.
