Grade 5: Feb. 1- 4

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will be learning about “le genre et le nombre dans la phrase”. There will be an evaluation on February 11^th. Students should also be completing the following: comic strip, book reports and French homework assignment from last week.

Math: We will continue with module 4: measure.

English: We will finish presentations of the Dance research project.

Social Studies: Students should be reviewing chapter 4. There will be an evaluation on February 8^th.

Religion: Students will be learning about unit 3: The two Commandments in the New Testament compared to the 10 Commandments of the Old Testament.

Grade 4: Feb. 1- 4

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will learn about the ‘déterminant’and other elements of a sentence.
A reminder that book reports for January are due on February 7^th.

Math:  We will start learning about division. Students should be practicing their basic division facts up to 49/ 7.

English: We will finish presentations of the Music research project.

Science: We are continuing with our unit on Lights and Shadows.

Social Studies: Students should be reviewing their notes on the Rocky Mountains. There will be an evaluation on February 8th.

Religion: Students will be learning about unit 3: The two Commandments in the New Testament compared to the 10 Commandments of the Old Testament.

Grade 5: Jan. 24- 27

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will be learning about verb-subject and adjective agreement. There will be an assignment in lieu of an evaluation. Students should also submit their comic strips by Thursday.

Math: We will finish unit 3. There will be an evaluation on Wednesday. This will cover the entire module. Then we will move on to our unit on measure.

English: We will begin presentations of the Dance research project on Monday.

Social Studies: Students will finish chapter 4: the Canadian Shield. They should be reviewing their notes.

Religion: Students will be learning about unit 3: Called to Live a Moral Life.

Grade 4: Jan. 24- 27

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will learn the ‘passé composé’ of irregular verbs.
A reminder that the French Reading Program is due on MONDAY. Students should be reading out loud for 20 minutes a day in French, four times a week for a total of 80 minutes.

Math:  We will continue with multiplication. Students should be practicing their times tables up to 7 X 7.

English: We will start presentations of the Music research project on Monday.

Science: We are continuing with our unit on Lights and Shadows.

Social Studies: Students will finish our unit about the Rocky Mountains. They should be reviewing their notes.

Religion: Students will be learning about unit 3: The Kingdom of God.

Grade 5: Jan. 17- 21

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will be learning about ‘la bande dessinée’. There will be an evaluation of the terminology on Friday.

Math: We will continue long division. There will be an evaluation on Wednesday.

English: Students will their research project about different styles of dance. The project is due on Monday, January 24^th.

Social Studies: Students will continue learning about chapter 4: the Canadian Shield.

Religion: Students will be reviewing unit 2: Called to Gather in Faith.

Grade 4: Jan. 17- 21

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will learn the ‘passé composé’ of verbs ending in IR. There will be an evaluation on Friday.
A reminder that the French Reading Program is due on MONDAY. Students should be reading out loud for 20 minutes a day in French, four times a week for a total of 80 minutes.

Math:  We will continue with multiplication. Students should be practicing their times tables up to 7 X 7. There will be an evaluation on Wednesday.

English: Students will continue their Music research project. It is due on Monday, January 24^th.

Science: We are continuing with our unit on Lights and Shadows.

Social Studies: Students will continue to learn about the Rocky Mountains.

Religion: Students will be reviewing unit 2: A New Beginning.

Grade 5: Jan. 10- 14

French: Students will be writing opinion letters. The final copy is due Friday.

Math: We will continue long division.

English: Students will start a research project about different styles of dance.

Social Studies: Students will continue learning about chapter 4: the Canadian Shield.

Religion: Students will be learning about Epiphany.

Grade 4: Jan. 10- 14

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will learn the ‘passé composé’ of verbs ending in ER. There will be an evaluation on Friday.

Math:  We will start learning multiplication. Students should be practicing their times tables up to 7 X 7.

English: Students will start a research project. This is cross-curricular with Music.

Science: We are starting a new unit on Lights and Shadows.

Social Studies: Students will learn about the Rocky Mountains.

Religion: Students will be learning about Epiphany.
