Grade 5: May 30- June 3

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will present their poetry analysis project starting on Monday. There will also be a poetry reading comprehension quiz on Tuesday. It is not for marks. Additionally, students will be reading short stories.
A reminder that book reports and reading logs are due on June 1st.

MathThere will be a unit test on statistics and probability on Tuesday. Then we will start our unit on Transformations.

English: Students will continue the novel study activities of Fatty Legs.

Social Studies: Students will work on a project on chapters 10 and 11.

Religion: The Religion exam is on Friday, June 3rd. Students can use the following link to practice: http://www.pearsoncanada.ca/school/growinginfaith/student-home/

There will also be links on the Google Classroom to practice for each unit. The practice tests will be in the format of Google Forms.

Grade 4: May 30- June 3

GRADE 4


Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: The comic strips are due on Monday. Then we will be completing large group reading activities.
A reminder that reading programs are due on Monday. Students are required to read 50 minutes in French and 50 minutes in English per week. Book reports are due on June 1st.

Math:  We will finish learning about addition and subtraction of decimal numbers. There will be a quiz on Thursday.

English: We will continue our novel study of Belle of Batoche.

Science: Students will finish working on a project where they invent a complex machine. It is due on Thursday.

Social Studies: Students will continue to work on a history project where they summarize 5 different events of Alberta’s past.

 Religion: Students will continue learning about Unit 5: Building the Kingdom of God. They will also learn how to use gratitude journals at home to deepen their Faith in God.

 

A reminder that swimming lessons are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday! Please send your child to school with a bathing suit, towel and hairbrush (if needed). Thank you!

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will continue the poetry unit. They are working on a poetry analysis project. It is due next Monday.

Math: We will continue our unit on probability and data analysis.

English: Students will continue the novel study of Fatty Legs.

Social Studies: There will be a quiz on chapter 9 on Thursday. Then students will work on a project on chapters 10 and 11.

Religion: Students will continue with Unit 5: Rooted in Dignity and Living our Faith. They will also learn how to use gratitude journals at home to deepen their Faith in God.

Grade 4: May 24- 27

English: Students will continue the novel study of Fatty Legs.

Social Studies: We will finish chapter 9: New Ways of Living. There will be a quiz at the end of the chapter.

Religion: Students will have an introduction to Unit 5: Rooted in Dignity and Living our Faith. They will also learn about expressing gratitude.

Grade 4: May 16- 19

French: Students will learn about comic strips. They will also be completing group reading activities.
A reminder that reading programs are due on Monday. Students are required to read 50 minutes in French and 50 minutes in English per week.

Math:  We will be learning about decimal numbers. There is a quiz on fractions on Tuesday.

English: We will continue our novel study of Belle of Batoche.

Science: Students will be working on a project where they invent a complex machine.

Social Studies: Students will be learning about agriculture in Alberta.

 Religion: Students will continue learning about Unit 5: Building the Kingdom of God. They will also learn about expressing gratitude.

Math: We will finish our unit on geometry. There will be an evaluation on Wednesday. Then we will start a unit on probability and data analysis.

English: Students will be starting a novel study on Fatty Legs.

Social Studies: We will continue chapter 9: New Ways of Living.

Religion: Students will have an introduction to Unit 5: Rooted in Dignity and Living our Faith.

Grade 4: May 9- 13

French: Students will learn how to conjugate verbs in the “futur simple”. There will be an evaluation on Friday.
A reminder that reading programs are due on Monday. Students are required to read 50 minutes in French and 50 minutes in English per week.

Math:  We will continue our unit on fractions.

English: We will start a novel study on Belle of Batoche.

Science: There will be an evaluation on Wednesday on the Simple Machines unit. Then students will start working on a project.

Social Studies: Students will start presenting their natural resources project on Tuesday.

 Religion: Students will have an introduction to Unit 5: Building the Kingdom of God.

English: Students will be working on a poetry project. It is due Friday. In addition, there will be a unit test on the concepts of poetry on Tuesday.

Social Studies: We will continue chapter 9: New Ways of Living.

Religion: Students will learn about Mary, mothers and women of the Bible.
