May 1- 5

Here's the plan for next week:

French: This week students will learn the verbs ending in IR in the 'imparfait'. There will be an evaluation on Friday, May 5th. In addition, students will work on writing a text about Alberta for our "gala oratoire" which is a celebration of French speaking.
*Stories about Spring are due on Monday, May 1st.*

**We have changed the format of the reading program. Now students must read in French and English for 50 minutes a week (100 minutes total) for their reading program. Reading logs from last week are due on Monday. **
Math: Students will finish learning about fractions. There will be an evaluation mid-week. We will also begin to look at decimal numbers and their relation to fractions.

English: We will continue our unit on poetry. Students will begin to work on a poetry project. The due date has yet to be assigned.
 
Science: We will continue our unit on simple machines. Students should be reviewing their notes at home as there will be an evaluation during the second week of May.

April 24- 28

Here's the plan for next week:

French: This week students will learn the verbs ending in ER in the 'imparfait'. There will be an evaluation on Friday, April 28th. In addition, students will continue to work on writing a short story using the theme of Spring and their main character is their kindergarten reading buddy.

Math: Students will continue to learn about fractions.

English: We will continue our unit on poetry.

April 18- 21

Here's the plan for next week:

French: This week students will continue to work on writing a short story using the theme of Spring and their main character is their kindergarten reading buddy.

Math: Students will start to learn about fractions.

English: We will continue our unit on poetry.
 
Science: We will continue our unit on simple machines.



IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
 We will be going to Heritage Park on Friday. Please ensure that your child is properly dressed for the weather.

April 10- 13

Here's the plan for next week:

French: This week students will learn the verbs AVOIR and ETRE in the 'imparfait'. There will be an evaluation on April 13th. Students are also writing a short story using the theme of Spring and their main character is their kindergarten reading buddy.
 
 
**We will be changing the format of the reading program. Now students must read in French and English for 50 minutes a week (100 minutes total) for their reading program. Reading logs from last week are due on Monday. **
 
Math: We will complete our next unit of measuring area. Although there is no evaluation for this unit, there is a unit project that will be due on Thursday.

English: We will continue our unit on poetry.

 
Religion: Students will prepare for the upcoming liturgy of Holy Thursday.
 
Science: We have started our unit on simple machines. We will continue to work on this.
Our next MSD (wasteless lunch) is on Wednesday, April 12th. If you do not wish for your child to participate, please write a note in his or her agenda.



IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
 The Holy Thursday liturgy will take place on April 13th at 10:00 am for anyone who is interested in attending.
