Grade 5: May 31- June 4

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students’ project of analyzing a French song will be due on Monday. After presentations, we will start reading a French play together.
A reminder that students’ reading programs and book reports are due on Monday.

Math: We will start a new unit on transformations.

English: Students should finish all 4 of their booklets on Fatty Legs by Wednesday. We will also be reading a story called “Stolen Words” and completing related activities.

Religion: Students will continue learning about Mary.

Grade 4: May 31- June 4

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French:  Students will continue to learn about ‘la bande dessinée’. In addition, they will work on a research project on music genres.
A reminder that students’ reading programs and book reports are due on Monday.


Math:  We will start a new unit on geometry.

English: Students will finish activities related to Belle of Batoche. All work is due on ­Friday.

Science: We will continue our unit on plant growth and changes.

Social Studies: Students will work on a new project where they will learn about Alberta’s past.

Religion: Students will continue learning about Mary.

Please note that we will continue our Family Life unit.

Grade 5: May 25- 28

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: We will continue our unit on la poésie. There will be a comprehension evaluation on Wednesday. Students’ project of analyzing a French song will be due on May 31st.

Math: We will finish our unit on statistics and probability. There will be an evaluation on Friday.

English: We will finish reading Fatty Legs.

Religion: Students will continue learning about Mary. In addition, anyone who has yet to present their Religion project will do so throughout the week.

Grade 4: May 25- 28

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French:  Students will continue to learn about ‘la bande dessinée’. Any student who has not yet submitted their assignments on ‘le future proche’ (8 sentences) or ‘le future simple’ (paragraph about careers), should submit in class on Tuesday.
A reminder that students’ reading programs are due on Tuesday.

Math:  Students will finish learning about addition and subtraction of decimal numbers. There will be an evaluation on Friday. There is also a math project where students create a receipt from a store or restaurant, demonstrating addition and subtraction of decimal numbers. This is due on Friday as well.

English: We will finish reading Belle of Batoche.

Science: We will continue our unit on plant growth and changes.

Social Studies: Students will present their agriculture posters.

Religion: Students will continue learning about Mary. In addition, anyone who has yet to present their Religion project will do so throughout the week.

Please note that we will begin our Family Life unit towards the end of the week.

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: We will continue our unit on la poésie.

Math: We will continue our unit on statistics and probability.

English: We will continue our novel study on Fatty Legs.

Religion: Students will continue learning about Mary.


A reminder that students have a special presentation from Randy Chevrier about Fire Safety on Thursday at 9:00 am. I will be sharing the Zoom link with them on my Google Classroom stream.

Grade 4: May 17- 20

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French:  Students will work on a Health and French assignment where they write about careers that interest them. The verbs must be conjugated in the ‘futur simple’. This is due on Thursday. We will also look at aspects of ‘la bande dessinée’.

Math:  Students will continue to learn about addition and subtraction of decimal numbers.

English: We will continue with our novel study on Belle of Batoche.

Science: We will start a new unit on plant growth and changes.

Social Studies: Students will finish their project about Alberta’s agriculture. They should be ready to present on May 25th.

Religion: Students will continue learning about Mary.

Math: We will start a new unit on statistics and probability.

English: We will finish our unit on poetry. The poetry project is due on Wednesday. Then we will start a novel study on Fatty Legs.

Religion: Students will finish presenting their Religion project.

Grade 4: May 3- 7

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French:  We will be learning about the ‘futur proche’. There will be an evaluation on Thursday.
A reminder that students’ reading programs and book reports are due on Monday.

Math:  Students will be learning about converting fractions to decimal numbers, and equivalent decimals.

English: We will finish our unit on poetry. The poetry project is due on Wednesday. Then we will start a novel study on Belle of Batoche.

Science: Students will finish their project where they invent and build a complex machine. Presentations will be on Friday.

Social Studies: Students will continue their project about Alberta’s agriculture.

Religion: Students will finish presenting their Religion project.
