Grade 5: Apr. 27- 30

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students’ work booklets on Les terrifiantes croutsilles de tante Imelda are due on Monday. Then we will be learning about verbs in the ‘passé simple’. There will be an evaluation on Friday. A reminder that students’ reading programs and book reports will be due on May 3rd.

Math: We will complete our unit on geometry. There will be an evaluation on Friday.

English: We will continue our unit on poetry. There will be an evaluation on Thursday.

Religion: Students will finish presenting their Religion project.

Grade 4: Apr. 27- 30

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French:  We will be learning about the verbs ending in IR, as well as continuing to learn about irregular verbs, in the ‘imparfait’. There will be an evaluation on the IR verbs only on Friday. The homework assignment on irregular verbs will be due on Wednesday.
A reminder that students’ reading programs are due on Tuesday. Book reports will be due on May 3rd.

Math:  We will complete our unit on fractions. There will be an evaluation on Friday.

English: We will continue with our unit on poetry.

Science: Students will continue their project where they invent and build a complex machine.

Social Studies: We will begin to learn about Alberta’s agriculture.

Religion: Students will finish presenting their Religion project.

Grade 5: Apr. 19- 23

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will finish their novel study on Les terrifiantes croutsilles de tante Imelda.

Math: We will continue our unit on geometry.

English: We will continue our unit on poetry.

Religion: Students will finish working on the Religion project and being presentations mid-week.

Grade 4: Apr. 19- 23

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students’ opinion letters are due on Monday. We will be learning about the verbs ending in ER, as well as irregular verbs, in the ‘imparfait’. There will be an evaluation on the ER verbs only on Friday. A homework assignment on irregular verbs will follow.
A reminder that students’ reading programs are due on Monday.

Math:  We will continue with our unit on fractions.

English: We will continue with our unit on poetry. There will be an evaluation on Tuesday on similes vs. metaphors.

Science: Students will continue their project where they invent and build a complex machine.

Social Studies: Student’s natural resources project is due on Wednesday. Then we will begin to learn about Alberta’s agriculture.

Religion: Students will finish working on the Religion project and begin presentations mid-week.

Grade 5: Apr. 12- 16

GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will start a novel study. They will be reading the book called Les terrifiantes croutsilles de tante Imelda.

Math: We will start a new unit on geometry.

English: We will start a new unit on poetry.

Religion: Students will finish working on the Religion project.

Grade 4: Apr. 12- 16

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will finish writing their opinion letters. They are due next Monday. In addition, students will be learning about the verbs AVOIR and ÊTRE in the ‘imparfait’. There will be a pre-test (not for marks) on Tuesday, followed by an evaluation on Friday.
A reminder that students’ reading programs are due on Monday. This is only for the week of school before the break. Students were not expected to read during the holidays.

Math:  We will start a new unit on fractions. In addition, students’ project on measuring area will be due on Friday.

English: We will start a new unit on poetry.

Science: Students will start a new project where they will invent and build a complex machine.

Social Studies: We will finish learning about the natural resources of Alberta. Students have been working on a group research project and should be done by the end of the week.

Religion: Students will finish working on the Religion project.
