Grade 4: Mar. 27- 30

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: A reminder that the NEW reading program is due for Monday.
Students will finish their good copy of their French spring stories. They are due on Thursday.

Math: We will continue converting fractions to decimal numbers. Then we will start addition of decimal numbers.

English: We will finish our unit on root words. There will be a quiz on Wednesday. Then we will start poetry.

Science: We will continue our unit on Simple Machines.

Social Studies: Students are working on a project about one of Alberta’s natural resources. This is due next Monday.

Religion: Students will have an introduction to unit 4: New Life in Jesus. They will also complete readings about Jesus' miracles in the textbook and the Bible. Additionally, our class will continue to prepare for the Holy Thursday liturgy. This Sunday is Palm Sunday.

A REMINDER THAT BOOK REPORTS ARE DUE ON THURSDAY.

Grade 3: Mar. 27- 30

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students should almost be done log 7 of their French at-home reading program. Students should finish their “fluidity of sentences” assignment by Wednesday. They will also learn about poetry.

Math: We will finish with our unit on multiplication and division. There will be a unit test on Thursday.

English: Students will continue with their poetry unit.

Science: We will continue our unit on structures and construction.

Social Studies: We will continue with our unit on Ukraine.

Religion: Students will continue with unit 4: Our Lenten Journey. They will also complete readings about Jesus' miracles in the textbook and the Bible. Additionally, our class will continue to prepare for the Holy Thursday liturgy. This Sunday is Palm Sunday.

Grade 4: Mar. 13- 16

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: A reminder that the NEW reading program is due for Monday.
Students will begin planning and writing a short story with the theme of spring. We will also continue with our guided reading groups.

Math: We will finish with our unit on fractions. There will be an evaluation on Tuesday. Then we will learn about converting fractions to decimal numbers.

English: Students will finish their paragraphing assignments. They are due on Wednesday. Then we will start a unit on root words.

Science: We will continue our unit on Simple Machines.

Social Studies: We will continue to learn about our province’s natural resources.

Religion: Students will have an introduction to unit 4: New Life in Jesus. They will also learn the story of Zaccheus in the Bible, sing and dramatize the Zaccheus song, learn a St. Patrick’s prayer, and play Bible Bingo. Additionally, our class will begin to prepare for the Holy Thursday liturgy.

Grade 3: Mar. 13- 16

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students should be on log 7 of their French at-home reading program. This week, students will finish learning about the fluidity of sentences. They will also learn about poetry.

Math: We will continue with our unit on multiplication and division. There will be an evaluation on division strategies on Thursday.

English: Students will finish their paragraphing assignments. They are due on Wednesday. We will also start our poetry unit.

Science: We will continue our unit on structures and construction.

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

We will be learning how to conjugate reflexive verbs in the passé composé. There will be an evaluation on Friday.

Math: We will continue with our unit on fractions.

English: Students will continue learning about adjectives in our writing. We will also start to learn about paragraphing.

Science: The Lights and Shadows project is due on Wednesday. Then we will start a new unit on Simple Machines.

Social Studies: We will continue to learn about our province’s natural resources.

Religion: Students will have an introduction to unit 4: New Life in Jesus. They will read about Lent in their textbooks, learn about the story of St. Patrick, and learn an Irish blessing song.

Grade 3: Mar. 6- 10

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students should be starting log 7 of their French at-home reading program. This week, students will learn about the fluidity of sentences and using transition words in our writing.

Math: We will continue with our unit on multiplication. We are also learning about division and how these operations are related. Students should be practicing their multiplication facts up to 9 X 9. There will be an evaluation on multiplication strategies on Wednesday.

English: There will be a reading comprehension evaluation on Tuesday. Students will continue to learn about adjectives in our writing. We will also start to learn about paragraphing.

Science: We will continue our unit on structures and construction.

Social Studies: We will continue with our unit on Ukraine.

Religion: Students will have an introduction to unit 4: Our Lenten Journey. They will read about Lent in their textbooks, learn about the story of St. Patrick, and learn an Irish blessing song.
