Grade 5: Mar. 8- 12

 GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will be writing stories.

Math: We will continue with our unit on fractions. Some students have yet to hand in their 3D model project for the unit on measure.

English: Students will be writing their persuasive letters. This is due on Friday.

Religion: Students will present their research project related to Black History Month. In addition, they will celebrate the 3^rd week of Lent.

There will be a quiz on nutrition in Health on Thursday. Students will receive their study notes on Monday.

Grade 4: Mar. 8- 12

 GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will review reflexive verbs (les verbes pronominaux) in the ‘passé composé’. There will be an evaluation on Friday. The final assignment from last week is due tomorrow.
A reminder that students’ reading programs are due on Monday.

Math:  We will continue our unit on telling time.

English: Students will do a review of writing conventions. In addition, they will work on a character portrait project. A reminder that the Wanted Poster project is due tomorrow.

Science: We will continue our unit on simple machines.

Social Studies: We will continue to learn about the natural resources of Alberta.

Religion: Students will present their research project related to Black History Month. In addition, they will celebrate the 3^rd week of Lent.

Grade 5: Mar. 1- 5

 GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will learn about verbs in the ‘futur simple’. There will be an evaluation on Friday.
A reminder that students’ book reports and reading logs are due on Monday.

Math: We will continue with our unit on fractions. Some students have yet to hand in their 3D model project for the unit on measure.

English: Students will learn about writing persuasive letters.

Religion: Students will continue to work on a research project related to Black History Month.

Grade 4: Mar. 1- 5

 GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will review all of the verbs in the ‘passé composé’. In lieu of a test, students will be given a final assignment. This will be due on Monday, March 8^th.
A reminder that students’ reading programs and book reports are due on Monday.

Math:  We will continue our unit on telling time. There will be an evaluation on Monday based on lessons 1 and 2 in the textbook.

English: Students will learn about graphic organizers. In addition, they will work on a project called ‘The Wanted Poster’. The task is to create a wanted poster for a villain character in a book that students have read. This is based on personal books that the students have read rather than a novel we have studied in class.

Science: We will begin a new unit on simple machines.

Social Studies: We will be learning about the natural resources of Alberta.

Religion: Students will continue to work on their research project related to Black History Month.

Mardi Gras

This is a reminder that the deadline for donating items for the Mardi Gras gift basket is March 2nd.

Grade 5: Feb. 22- 26

 GRADE 5

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will present their research projects. They should have their speech memorized.

Math: We will complete our unit on measure. There will be an evaluation on Thursday. The 3D model project is due on Friday.

English: Students will learn about adjectives and adverbs.

Religion: Students will be working on a research project related to Black History Month.

Grade 4: Feb. 22- 26

GRADE 4

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: Students will learn about the verbs that are conjugated with ÊTRE in the ‘passé composé’. There will be an evaluation on Friday.
A reminder that students’ reading programs are due on Monday.

Math:  We will continue our unit on telling time. Students should be practicing reading an analog clock.

English: Students will learn about adjectives and paragraphing.

Science: We will start presentations of the lights and shadows project on Monday.

Social Studies: We will start presentations of the Alberta regions project on Tuesday.

Religion: Students will be working on their research project related to Black History Month.
