Here is what we will be covering in class next week:
French: Students should be submitting log 5 of their French at-home
reading program. This week, students will continue to learn about the plural
form of words. Additionally, students will complete their music project in
which they are to find and research a song from their culture/ heritage. This
is due on Friday.
Math: We will continue with our unit on subtraction. There will be a quiz
on Wednesday. Students will be given one subtraction problem, and they
must show as many strategies as they’ve learned in class to solve the same
problem. There is a handout of strategies that they can review at home. It is also posted to the Google Classroom.
English: Students will continue to learn about parts of speech: nouns, verbs,
adjectives, adverbs etc. They
will also complete some reading comprehension activities and start to learn
about Black History Month.
Science: We will continue our unit on sound and hearing.
Social Studies: Students will continue to learn about Peru. They should be reviewing
their notes daily as there will likely be a quiz in a week.
Religion: Students will continue unit 3: Born of the Spirit. Students will also learn the liturgical season of ordinary time. They will complete the “Many Names for Jesus” project as well as learn about growing in faith through the Sacraments. Additionally, for part of Faith in Action, students will prepare a St. Valentine’s activity for their grade one buddies.
A REMINDER THAT BOOK REPORTS ARE DUE ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST.
