Here is what we will be covering in class next week:
French: Students
should be on log 4 of their French at-home reading program. This week, we will finish
learning about parts of speech. There will be a quiz on Thursday.
There is a Google Slide presentation on the Google Classroom called “Les classes
de mots” that will help students to prepare. Additionally, students will work
on various French Christmas activities.
Math: We will
continue with our unit on addition. Students should be practicing their basic
addition facts. There will be a quiz on Tuesday on demonstrating
different strategies of addition. These include estimating to the 10’s and 100’s,
a number line, base 10 blocks, converting numbers to money, writing word
problems, drawings, regrouping, the standard algorithm, and the “maison de 10”.
Students will receive a printed 8.5 X 11 copy of our classroom poster on
Monday.
English: Students will continue
writing Christmas stories. They are due on Friday.
Science: We will continue our
unit on sound and hearing.
Social Studies: Students will learn
about how Christmas is celebrated around the world. We will also start our unit
on Peru.
Religion: Students will continue unit 2: The Road to
Bethlehem. Students will also learn about the third week of Advent. In
addition, they will learn about Mary and Joseph’s journeys, our homes at Christmas,
and the name of Jesus.
REMINDER: Our school will be hosting an Open House on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
