Grade 4: May 8- 12

Here is what we will be covering in class next week:

French: A reminder that the reading program is due for Monday.
Students will learn how to conjugate verbs in the ‘futur proche’. There will be an evaluation on Friday. Additionally, they will complete their persuasive writing pieces for Friday. Students will also be doing some guided reading in small groups.

Math: Students who have not submitted their project called “L’horaire de ma journée” should do so ASAP. This week, we will be learning how to measure area.

English: We will start a novel study called Belle of Batoche. It’s a historical fiction novel by Jacqueline Guest, based on the events of the Red River Rebellion and the battle of Batoche.

Science: Students will continue to work on a project where they build their own, original complex machine.

Social Studies: Students will continue to learn about Alberta’s history.

Religion: Students will continue unit 5: Building the Kingdom of God. They will also learn about Mary, mothers, and women in the Bible. Additionally, students will be reciting the Hail Mary in English and French. There is a Marian Liturgy on Thursday at 10:00 am. Parents are welcome to attend.
